Your proof texting not only betrays your ignorance of the holistic nature of scripture, but also proves my point. However, since anti-homosexual religious types always resort to proof texting (since a holistic look at scripture, culture, and history always shows there’s nothing wrong with being gay), fine, I’ll go head and play that game too: Christ was directly asked what was required to enter heaven. What was his response?

 Matthew 19:16-19
 16 Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, ‘Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?’
 17 ‘Why do you ask me about what is good?’ Jesus replied. ‘There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.’
 18 ‘Which ones?’ the man inquired. Jesus replied, ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,
 19 honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’

Strange… nothing about sexuality, nothing even about marriage – unless you count ‘Adultery,’ which had a very, very different meaning to Jesus than it does to us (I invite you to actually read the original post).

With the vast majority of anti-homosexual religious people breaking the 4th commandment on a weekly basis while they call me an abomination, I feel just fine in my salvation. Thanks.

when God made man..he made them male and female....... the bible indicates that an intimate relationship was to be shared between a man and a woman... ge 2:24... homosexuality is the devils way of perverting the proper usage of sex to degrade Go's creation . Homsexuality is a sin ( Romans 1:26)....... God never intended for a man to have feelings for another man..sin has corrupted our feelings.. and emotions..seek God and ask Him to terminate those homosexual feelings.

Here's a Catholic reasoning for Lent: http://www.catholic.com/quickquestions/why-do-catholics-practice-fasting-and-abstinence-during-lent
I guess the primary Biblical support of fasting would be Matthew 9:15 - "...The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast."

Lent:Christianity::Valentine's Day:Relationships

A time period many set aside to partake in a display of something, that would probably mean more if it were done any other time if the year. I guess I'm technically a Baptsit now since that's the church I go to, but I don't hold any strong connections to any particular denomination. Some years I observe Lent, others I do not.

Not only was it a Christmas breakfast, it was my day off. I totally honey badgered that episode. I think the most telling part of the whole episode is the box of Pop-Tarts behind you.
